Hello Everyone! Guess what? I'm currently sick, unfortunately. Some disease has been going around the MTC and has unfortunately struck our room. First it was poor Elder Smart, then Elder Bray, Elder Smith and me, and finally my companion, Elder Lybbert. So now we are all sick, but it's chill because guess what we've got on our side? God. Even though we are all sick it doesn't distract from the Spirit and power of prayer. You can pray for anything and I know God hears you and knows you. I promise that as you pray you will feel Heavenly Father's influence in your life, your gratitude for him will increase, therefore Increasing your joy! There is great joy in the gospel, my friends!
Fun things:
We made a sauna, and you are probably asking yourself, "How does one make a sauna in the MTC?". Well let me tell you: your companion has to be a genius and determined. My comp took the shower curtains off a stall and then attached them to the top of the room where the six showers are. Then you just turn up the heat and WAL-LA you have a sauna. We had a district wide sauna, and it was really nice for us all to bond and get used to what the Philippines weather will be like.
Spiritual thought:
David L. Buckner gave an amazing devotional, It's rare that I hear an apostle with that much energy. He was a really motivating speaker and talked about how "God is hastening his work," which really hit it out of the park for me in terms of motivation. Remembering that giving it your all on your mission is what God wants.
As I think about missionary work, I get more and more excited. The atonement is so, so powerful. I promise you and know that as you repent, God will bless you and be with you. Falling short is okay! We all fall short. Being willing to turn to Jesus is really what matters. Notice how I said willing, because Jesus will always accept us with wide open arms. Always feel free to reach out. I love reading your emails!
