Week 16 ~ Worst Friday Ever 🤣
I woke up Friday morning and it was a normal day. My stomach hurt a little, but that's pretty normal here so I figured I was just Hungry. Then we went to 711 for breakfast, I ate my food and didn't feel very well, but I figured it was because I over ate or something. Then we got into a tricy, I got in the back next to the driver as I always do. The tricycle driver is looking to take a left and just as I look over I see another tricycle speeding right for us. I think, "Naw, He'll surely stop for us." He did not stop and directly hit us. We crashed pretty hard and that's fine because it's just metal on metal, but my ankle got caught in the other tricy and our driver started to go forward. My ankle was stuck and it started to twist and probably would have broken if my companion (Elder Villanueva) hadn't jumped out and blocked our driver from going. After I hopped out of the tricy so many kind Filipinos (I swear it was like the whole town) gathered around and asked if I was okay). Of course I said I was because they were ready to grab this tricy driver and mob him and we didn't want to make a scene; they were calling for all sorts of crazy things I cannot put on this Email.
That's the first incident, the second was much worse. Turns out that the stomach ache I had multiplied by 100x and we had to go back to the apartment because I started to have a fever. We called the mission president's wife about the tricy crash. I think I just have a stomach ache but then my fever gets really hot, and my stomach feels like it's getting torn apart from the inside. We take my temperature and it's 104F or 40C. So we call the Mission President's Wife and as I'm about to go to the hospital the fever falls. Of course I know it was from the baller priesthood blessing my companion gave me.
Spiritual thought/On the bright side:
You can really find happiness and fun even when you're in so much pain. Even when my fever was spiking to 104, I didn't feel homesick or anything like unto it, I felt the love my Savior has for me because he spared my ankle. I know the Lord protects his missionaries. Elder Villanueva and I both agree my ankle should probably be broken and if that happened, I would have had to go home early. But I know I'm on the Lord's time and every moment I'm here, I'm protected. My fever was so high but even still, Elder Villanueva and I were making jokes and laughing about how it's the Worst Friday Ever, hence the title. I learned that no matter what life throws at you, sometimes the best cure is just comedy and making it fun.
Shout out to Elder Ducher. I feel your pain.
Also I'm getting transferred to the biggest city in the mission, Daraga!!!
