Week 26 ~ Stake Conference

Image
I heard BYU lost and that made my week already, but then what made it even better is we had stake conference!!  I have never seen that amount of people at a chapel before, and trust me, I've been to Davis County (Shout out Josh). I think probably close to 1000 mga tao there. The talks were so good, and even though we had to stand in the back, the Spirit was definitely strong because of the dedicated members here. I think about how some of these members had to save up all their money just so they could travel to Legazpi for one stake conference.  Our PBD also passed the baptismal interview , that's always a great feeling! So it was a good week. I'd say much better than last week.  Things I've heard while finding: Busy po  Wala daw (From a child, Daw meaning, mom said to say she's not here) May ginagawa  Christian Ako Wala mga tao dito po Finding in the city is certainly a different level of grinding, hahaha. Tagalog word of the day: pinakanakakatawa (most funny) ...

Mahirap week talaga para sa amin, (hard week for us) because our PBD fell off date and we had to drop lots of people. However, we in the paint fr and we coming back like the Cavs in that one series against the warriors (2016 pala iinisip ko). Satan punches (works) hard sometimes but we punch (work) harder fr    . Not a lot happened but i love you all and pray for you all! Tagalog word of the week (May ginagawa)- Have things to do Love, Elder Spackman Least jungle area in the Philippines Farm Land fr Catholic Church

Week 24 ~ Oh the Places You'll Go!

A little McMillan Elementary throw back for the OG's with the title. What's up everyone? I hope that ya'll are doing amazing and are living life to the fullest  ️  . This week was a little punted no lie, (meaning it was hard to teach people because they were busy/rejected us). However, as Elder Rasband said, "anything good you do, is a success" and we did some good by handing out Book of Mormons and cards. I think the worst feeling for me is when it's nighttime and I'm tired and trying to teach and the language just doesn't work, haha. We were teaching some members for our last appointment of the day and man I couldn't get out a sentence, haha. But I feel like when they don't mix in Bikolono in the pure Tagalog I can understand mostly everything. The problem here is they will just start talking in Bikolono and I'll just assume it's a different Tagalog and get lost then my comp will tell me it's Bikol after the lesson.  Hey BRO! (Eve...

Week 23 ~ Almost hit by a bus???!!! 🚌 🚏 🚍

Image
I'll cut to the chase, I think the craziest thing that happened today was Elder Solidum and I almost getting plowed by a bus. We were standing in the road, (As you do here in the Philippines) and I look to the left on the highway and see a bus that's probably going 60 MPH which here is cooking. For some reason buses are the fastest automobile here, and they love to speed (which there is no speeding here talaga). So I see this jeepney minding its own business going the speed limit and the bus comes flying up behind it and can't break so it swerves into the lane Elder Solidum and I  are in, so we had to jump out of the way. I was feet from literally getting sent home (the spirit world). Spiritual thought: Priesthood Power Elder Solidum and I had the opportunity to give a kid who was having asthma issues a priesthood blessing. Very spiritual blessing, and we give lots of blessings and often don't see the result of our blessings. However the Nanay (Mom) we are teaching tol...

Week 22 ~ The Power of an Apostle 🔥🔥🔒

Image
Elder Rasband came this week! We are so fortunate to have an Apostle of the Lord come here to the Philippines Legazpi Mission, as it hasn't happened for a long time. He dropped some spiritual bombs on us so it was pretty  . The Ammo (Content of the Talk): The thing he really emphasized to us was that baptism is one amongst equals in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Meaning that we need to be focusing on baptism. He called our mission a baptizing mission (President was smiling), and how we should really emphasize that.  He then started to talk about the atonement of Jesus Christ, and how through it we are all forgiven. And he said, "If any of you have made mistakes in the past, get over it. Repent, and you'll be forgiven. The rest of your life starts today". He then gave us a message from the prophet President Nelson: "1. We love you, 2. We thank you, 3. We need you."  He talked about how we need to convert people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it's pos...
