Week 24 ~ Oh the Places You'll Go!

A little McMillan Elementary throw back for the OG's with the title. What's up everyone? I hope that ya'll are doing amazing and are living life to the fullest ✨️ ðŸ™Œ.

This week was a little punted no lie, (meaning it was hard to teach people because they were busy/rejected us). However, as Elder Rasband said, "anything good you do, is a success" and we did some good by handing out Book of Mormons and cards. I think the worst feeling for me is when it's nighttime and I'm tired and trying to teach and the language just doesn't work, haha. We were teaching some members for our last appointment of the day and man I couldn't get out a sentence, haha. But I feel like when they don't mix in Bikolono in the pure Tagalog I can understand mostly everything. The problem here is they will just start talking in Bikolono and I'll just assume it's a different Tagalog and get lost then my comp will tell me it's Bikol after the lesson.

Hey BRO! (Everyday, Everywhere). It's always a "Hey, bro" but never a "How are you bro."

My companion told me that I was giving a talk in sacrament the night before the meeting, and truth be told I didn't prepare anything (cuz I didn't have time, I promise) and I thought I could speak on anything. Come to find out the topic is gratitude, and I found that out right before I'm supposed to give my talk. I freestyled it but I think it went well.

Spiritual thought: Responding to rejection

I think probably the most important lesson you can learn on your mission is how to respond to rejection. Because we get rejected a lot, especially here in Daraga. It sucks also, because this message means so much to me. However, what I've learned is you just have to learn how to cope with getting rejected. It's definitely hard sometimes, especially when people aren't particularly respectful, however once you realize we are all God's children, and they aren't rejecting you personally, it makes it a lot easier.

Tagalog word of the week: pagtanggi (rejection)

Sunset

I love the lizards, they eat the ants and spiders among other insects. They are also housemates so we respect them for keeping the house clean.

Greenest place on earth

My Pogi, haha
