Week 37 ~ Bawal muna!!!!! (Get out)

So I forgot to write an email last week because I thought that nothing interesting happened but then I remembered that we got a gun pulled on us.

What Happened:

Elder Pedegloria and I were just having a grand old time finding here in Pio Duran, When we knocked this one house (Middle of the jungle pala). The Nanay says to us ''Patuloy na'' or in english that we can come in. So of course Elder Spackman is excited, getting ready to preach the gospel, and all that fun business. Then we enter the house and there we see the tatay. The Tatay has a gun holstered in his belt and screams at us while grabbing his gun ''Bawal Muna''. Crazy Naman talaga we got outta there and i didn't realize it was a gun but Elder Pedegloria luckily filled me in on the details late. Good old story!!!

One of the Lord's friends and my friend got baptized in Daraga!!! (Don't worry Daraga I haven't forgotten about you). I received news on the PMG app and Masaya ako talaga  (I'm really happy).

Got punched in the Butt?

I was walking and a little girl ran up to me and for all you anime lovers, she did 1000 years of death jutsu on me and yeah, it really hurt to sit after that, and now I'm worried she will find me and do it again.

Our Friends Have Faith:

Elder Pedeglorias and my friends came to church even though that church was 2 hours away today, and we had to wake up at 4 am. We have this part member family that really wants to get sealed in the temple (Ako rin), and we have been working to overcome word of wisdom concerns to make that happen. I testified to them that they couldn't do it alone, But through Jesus Christ they could do it. Everyone pray for them.

We can do all things through Christ:

As I think of the experiences of my life, there was a period where I felt like I was walking alone. Just a feeling, but it was empty and draining, it always felt like I was hungry, but not physically, like my soul hungered for something more. I really thought I had a good life. High School was fun, sports and all that. But at the end of it all I still felt like I was lacking something. I found that on my mission what I was lacking was a lot, But humility. Being here has humbled me to turn to Christ to a different level. Turns out it's pretty hard being a missionary, it pushes you to the brink and then some. But the reward is you have to rely on something bigger than yourself to pull you through. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that this is His church. Why do we say it's that true church? If all the churches are about Jesus Christ, aren't they all correct? I'm very happy to answer those questions in the next email hahaha.

Have a great week,
Elder Spackman
