Week 53 ~ Dunking Time

Hello everyone, I'm going to keep this one short because last time it was so long. But anyway this week was fire cause we baptized 2 of our friends. We also got to finally watch General Conference, and it had some great talks that really inspired me.

Here is my favorite quote:

"Brothers and sisters, a testimony is not given for temporary use. This gift from our loving Heavenly Father is meant to be eternal because the giver is eternal. A testimony should not have an expiration date. It should not weaken or diminish because something in my life has changed or something in the world has changed. It should get stronger because, like the servant’s talents in the parable of the talents, my personal testimony is a gift to be multiplied—not buried" - Elder Brown

I feel like sometimes in my mission it's super hard, I still have doubts to be honest, and that's not a bad thing. Having doubts about the gospel is natural and is what makes it so we have a choice to believe. If it was so clear cut, it wouldn't require a lifelong commitment and sacrifice to obtain a sure testimony. Faith is meant to be hope in things not seen, but believed. If we neglect our faith and let outside forces destroy it, suddenly a testimony we strongly bore is no more. As Elder Brown said "The testimony didn't change, but we did". The Gospel and Church is true, it's an undeniable fact. But you're choice to believe in it changes because of temporal things. I've seen many strong members on my mission and outside my mission fall away. But as my good friend Danny Magallanes once said, "Once you know the church and gospel is true, you know it's true, you can deny it, but in your heart, you know it's true." fire quote from my boy Danny I'll never forget.

Have a great week,
Elder Spackman
