Week 4 ~ MTC Dilation Theory

Image
As the title suggests, time is so weird here, like it goes by so slow, yet so slow. Every day feels like it was 2 days ago, and it's crazy I've been a missionary for about 21 days at this point. But like some people say "days go slow and weeks go fast". I couldn't agree more, Because it feels like Interstellar here when he is on the event horizon and all the thoughts are replaying.  Spiritual thoughts for YOU: The Bonner family came and did a few gospel renditions of church songs and it was really cool and filled with the Spirit. On Tuesday we had a general authority come in and you could literally feel his aura I swear. Christ's love really is manifested in those who follow his ways and I can promise anyone reading this that as you follow Christ you will grow closer to him. I would encourage everyone reading this email, to think about one habit you can change, just one. Then go ahead and think about how Jesus Christ can help YOU fix this habit. I promised you...

Week 3 ~ MTC Food Conspiracy

Image
I have a theory that the MTC food is purposely rough on your stomach to get you prepared for the food in the field. Because let me tell ya, my stomach has been in rough condition thus far.  Anyway, Hello everyone! Elder Spackman coming at you. This week has been really fun, as well as being the most confusing week of my life. So much has happened so I'm sorry if this email is a little bit longer than usual.  Funny things: The first floor is full of disobedient missionaries. As my district leader calls it "The Great Spacious Building". It's seriously like some Arizona State dorms down there. They threw something called the "Last supper", where they stole a  ton of microwaves from the other districts and had the most amount of Ramen I've ever seen. All the tables in the first floor were put in the hallway and the trash cans were overflowing. They were also blasting Roddy Rich and other inappropriate music that they shouldn't be playing, however on the ...

Week 2 ~ My Teachers Should Totally Get Married

Hello everyone! Elder Spackman is back for another P-day—my last day at home, which is definitely crazy to think about. To be honest, the home MTC wasn't even that bad. It was just sitting in one spot for 12 hours and paying attention. My district is all flying to Salt Lake today, which is crazy because I only have a 40-minute drive, while some of these guys are flying from across the country. That’s definitely motivating for me. Highlights:  Like the name of the email suggests, our teachers are perfect for each other. I really hope they get married because being in their class is super spiritual and a little bit rom-com-ish. My whole district has picked up on it, and we are all cheering them on from the sidelines.  Changing subjects, my companion is actually incredible at guitar. Elder Lybbert and I also gave our first lesson in English, and I'd say we did pretty well. God couldn't have blessed me with a better companion for the MTC, although he is a BYU and Kansas City Ch...

Week 1 - Home MTC

Image
Hello friends! Elder Spackman coming at ya, Fresh off the first day of home MTC! Some Highlights: The Spirit was strong, the classes had so much great information packed into them! Meeting my district I was nervous at first, but I have such an amazing district and all the Elders are so cool. I got to also meet my companion, Elder Lybbert. My comp is so cool and we are both into music so we are definitely going to end up being a dynamic duo.  All of the teachers are so amazing! The spirit they bring and the messages that we are representing Jesus Christ is so strong.  A quick little scripture for y'all cause I don't wanna waste too much of your time reading this: Ether 12:27. It's a little bit of a longer scripture, but is gold, trust. " And if men come unto me I will show unto them their  weakness . I  give  unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my  grace  is sufficient for all men that  humble  themselves before me; for if they humb...
